Aprilia Marittima
The tourist complex of Latisana Marittima, which lies a few kilometres from the beaches of Lignano Sabbiadoro - in the province of Udine - and Bibione - in the province of Venice - is located in the lagoon of Marano and belongs to the town of Latisana. The resort is divided between the municipalities of Latisana and of Marano Lagunare. The village takes its name from the construction company "Aprilia Marittima SPA" that created it in the early 70s thanks to the initiative of some businessmen of the place.
Aprilia is the nautical and touristic area of Latisana. With its docks, its more than 2,500 berths for boats from 7 to 25 metres, dry marina and its services for storage and maintenance, its Terramare, swimming pools, green areas and high quality services for tourists, it has become one of the largest ports in Europe.
The Dock overlooks the lagoon and through channels, partly natural and partly artificial, moored boats can reach the entrance of the port of Lignano Sabbiadoro and enter the open sea. There are different solutions for housing and services for tourists: 3 apartment-rental agencies, a camping, a bed&breakfast, swimming pools, supermarkets, tennis courts, tobacconists, and much more.
NAUTILIA -The exhibition of second-hand boats
Every year in October, the Ente Fiera "Cantieri di Aprilia" organizes "Nautilia", one of the most appreciated exhibitions of second-hand boats and vessels at international level. Nautilia differs from all other nautical exhibitions organized in Italy for the number of visitors and exhibitors, who come from all over the world, but mainly because it is the only Nautical Show where boats are placed on land. In this way, buyers can inspect the real condition of the craft, check the rudders and the propellers, thus avoiding additional costs for following towages. The exhibition draws a lot of "sailors" or would-be sailors for two weeks. The boats measure from 7 to 20 mt. and are divided into: 20% sailing boats, 75% motor boats and the remainder 5% motorsailers. The exhibition is a real "second-hand showcase" attracting every year more than 15000 visitors and more than 40 professional national and international brokers. There is a considerable number of businesses which are concluded every year.
