5th and 6th January

the so called "foghere" gladden the Epiphany eve in all our country. They are characterized by the lighting of the stiking bonfire and during the performance people can taste the "pinza", the traditional cake, sipping the "vin brulè", an aromatic and very hot wine.

 Carnival
14th and 16th February

Latisana organizes a particular events, full of colours and happiness, where everybody, but expecially the children, can live funny and carefree moments, thanks to the animation, jugglers and games. Moreover the tipical carnival sweet, the so called "crostoli" and "frittelle" will be offered.

Opening of touristic season in Aprilia Marittima
22nd May

Official inauguration ceremony of the touristic season in Aprlia Marittima, one of the resort specialized in the tourism of the pleasure craft in the high Adriatic sea region, with three dock with 2.500 mooring places for boats and many other services. The ceremony consist of the flag-raising, the
majorette parade and several performances of dance and it is attended by some Province and Region authorities.

Trip along the Tagliamento river
every wednesday from 7th July to 25th August

Since 2003 the Tourism Councillorship of Latisana organizes the Sailing up of the Taliamento river, proposing the ancient waterway as tourist proposal. The trip is scheduled from the last Wednesday of June to the last Wednesday of August, on the occasion of the weekly market, and it is completely free. On board of the motorship "San Lunardo" the tourists could enjoy the uncontaminated beauty of the fluvial environment, testing the products of our country, offered by the farms, for all the trip that lasts 2 hours. The trip continues with a guided tour tothe monuments and to the places of Latisana, and it includes also the visit of the wine cellar to taste our wines.

Lyrical Opera en plein air
22th July

The lyrical opera on the main square is a very successfully event, completely organized by the "Società Filarmonica" and masterfully directed by the maestro Alfredo Barchi, with world-famous lyric singers. This event takes place only in some cities of Friuli. After "Il Barbiere di Siviglia", "La Cavalleria Rusticana", "L'Elisir d'Amore", "La Cenerentola" and "Il Don Pasquale", in 2010 we present "La Traviata".

8th and 10th August

Latisana, mother of "DOC Friuli Latisana" and wine city productor, during the night of Saint Laurence, celebrates the binomial culture-oenology through tasting, astronomical observations, classical music en plein air and art exhibitions in a romantic and original atmosphere. The event, that takes place at the same time in more than 250 wine cities all around Italy, is organized by the National Wine City Association and by the Italian Proastronomy Union, in collaboration with the Tourist Movement of Wine.

Settembre D.O.C.
10, 11, 12 September

Latisana proposes its more important event in the second weekend of September. "Settembre DOC" involves oenogastronomy, fashion, music, sport, to celebrate the final of the summer season. The oenogastronomic stands by "Campagna Amica" and by "Piazza Italia", the shows performanced by the world-famous artists that every year entertained the public more and more numerous, the fashion show, the art exhibitions, the concert at the final night and the sensational fireworks are just some aspects which make the "Settembre DOC" one of the most important events in the Bassa Friulana.

San Martino's Fair
5/14 November

This event has its origins by the ancient cattle fair-market, at the end of the agricultural crop. It becomes a dynamic and full of proposal fair which suits with Latisana reality, where trade and culture contribute to make the city one important centre of the Bassa Friulana. The wekend is characterized by a well-assorted programme: the big Luna Park to pleased the young people, the market-fair with stands and shops open also on Sundays, the oenogastronomical stands with "La zucca e il vin novello" subject and the oenogastronomic itinerary "Le giornate DOC di San Martino", where many bars and restaurants propose, with a special price, theirs specialities. Amusement but also culture: the programme presents many appointments which regards art, music and literature.

Christmas
4/24 December

In the Yuletide Latisana presents a suggestive atmosphere where lights, sounds and colours turn the city centre in a delightful place. The Christmas market, where people can find gifts and other original goods, is a not to be missed appointment; moreover the children animation and the extraordinary markets usually take place on December, 08th-09th-10th. During this period the city presents an important literary prize named "Latisana per il Nord Est" which awards prizes the novelists who stand out in the national and international panorama.

Typical fair of the small village of Gorgo, organized by the "Comitato Promotore dell'Asparago Bianco", by the Young Circle of Gorgo and by all the community. The guests could taste the specialities containing asparagus and enjoy theirselves with the dance bands and music. It is a regionwide event and it is integrated in the "Bianco & Bianchi - white asparagus and the great white wine in Friuli Venezia Giulia" itinerary.

The community and the parish of the small village of Latisanotta organize the ancient patron saint and popular feast with oenogastronomic stands, luna park, lottery and dances.

This feast proposes a very good dancing music, thanks to several orchestra, oenogastronomical stands, a lottery organised by the parish. Moreover the "Ferragostana", the running march orgnanised by the Avis, in which numerous foreign tourists enjoy.

The parish of Bevazzana, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Madonna Immacolata, proposes an ancient patron saint festivity, symbol of the religious roots of the small villages rose around Latisana.

 Nautilia - The exhibition of second-hand/used boats
23 October / 1 November

This events well known with the name of "Nautilia" attracts more than 15.000 persons every year. It is a nautical exhibition of second-hand boats, organized by the "Ente Fiera Cantieri di Aprilia", international point of reference for who wants to buy a big second-hand boat, engine-driven or under sail. Unlike all the other nautical exhibitions, "Nautilia" is the only one Second-hand Nautical Exhibition where the boats are situated ashore. It is a second-hand exhibition in which the buyers can inspect also the keel of the boats, avoiding in that way additional costs.
